Study of mechanism of breakup of a liquid jet in swirling gas

摘要
Effects of flow properties and nozzle geometry on the instability of the annular liquid sheet in swirling gas are investigated. The results are as follows: the breakup of liquid film is mainly caused by the surface tension; the liquid Reynolds number always acts on the instability in the process of the jet; the aerodynamic force and the swirling intensity of the air in the interior of the hollow cylinder have no effects on the stability of the jet, but those in the exterior of the hollow cylinder play stabilizing role in the liquid jet during the breakup; the ratio of radius of the nozzle to thickness of the liquid film exerts a stability in the process of a jet.
