摘要
New bioactive bone cement (GBC) was made of PMMA spherical (MW. 270,000), MMA monomer and bioactive glass beads. The cement was possible to be handled as well as conventional PMMA bone cement. Its bone-bonding ability was investigated using segmental bone defect model of a mature rabbit. The bonding strengths of GBC at 8, 12 and 25 weeks after operation were 6.6, 13.6 and 21.4 kg, respectively. Those of CMW-1 cement were 3.2, 2.7 and 3.28 kg. GBC showed the similar bone bonding strength as the cement of Bis-GMA Resin and bioactive ceramic fillers (BABC) did until 12 weeks. However, GBC showed significantly higher bonding strength at 25 weeks after operation than BABC did. These results suggest GBC may have a potency to be noble bone cement in future.
