摘要
The general features of the incremental cassette data recorder, JK-950, are described in this paper. This unit was developed to simplify the circuit construction of application devices. It's incremental operation by character eliminates buffer storage on data transmission and realizes adaptability to various devices which have different data transmitting speeds. Recording/playback speed is up to 25 characters per second and continuous playback speed is 43 characters per second. Recording capacity is 50,000 characters in a Philips type cassette. Bit construction of a character is 10 bits standard and is changeable by an input control signal with no upper limit. The tape driving mechanism is constructed with a pinch roller, a pulse motor as the capstan motor, and two reel motors for precise tape speed control. The error rate is less than 10** minus **7 bits. Application is expected for data collection terminals and lower-speed communication terminals using telephone lines.
