Experimental investigations of the screening and conducting role of the permafrost rock zone, from the point of view of geochemical oil and gas prospecting methods, have been carried out. The effect of two factors was studied: changes in the physical properties of moist rocks upon freezing, and the effect of the formation of gas hydrates some specific gas geochemical search criteria are pointed out.
