The Automotive Industry requires high volume, automated deburring systems. To consistently produce a functionally acceptable part to meet Engineering and Quality Control requirements, the Manufacturing Engineer must plan the process to produce a burr with a predictable size and location. The method chosen to remove the planned burr must be flexible and durable. Looking ahead, the industry's short range goal is to increase automation and its long range goal is to utilize available technology for functional burr control as downsized components become more complex.
