摘要
The influence of cooling conditions on the solidification kinetics in centrifugally cast iron was investigated by varying the thickness of the layer of baked thermal insulation. A heat-insulating layer of resin-coated sand 4 mm thick maintains directional solidification and avoids the formation of shrinkage defects and segregates. The distribution of the structural zones in the pots is brought into line with the conditions under which compressor piston-rings operate.
