Hydrogen peroxide solves sludge odor problem

Hydrogen peroxide treatment has been used to solve an extreme hydrogen sulfide odor problem in the sludge dewatering process at Appleton, Wisconsin's waste treatment plant, since fall, 1974. With an annual cost of 9800, the treatment has had two significant results - a clean, comfortable working environment at the plant and the absence of complaints from the plant's neighbors.
