摘要
Asbestos has been a mineral fiber with many important advantages, and exact substitutes at competitive costs are difficult to find. Further, the alternative products may themselves represent a health hazard, as yet unrevealed. This article takes a look at the issues surrounding alternatives for asbestos. Some commonly used substitutes - glass fiber and mineral wools - are said to be reasonably safe.
