摘要
Field surveys were conducted at three reaches of gravel-bed rivers in New Brunswick to obtain the basic data to generate synthetic stage-discharge relationships. Each of the surveyed study reaches was located at a hydrometric station. The Manning resistance equation, the Keulegan logarithmic equation, and the Lacey and Kellerhals regime-type equations were utilized to generate synthetic stage-discharge relationships. The synthetic stage-discharge relationship for each reach was compared with the stage-discharge relationship established by the Water Survey of Canada for the hydrometric station. The results of the study indicate the difficulty of synthetically generating consistently reliable stage-discharge relationships for gravel-bed rivers. The greatest percent deviation between the observed and predicted rating curves was at low flows. For the case of the higher flows, the lacey equation produced the most reliable synthetic stage-discharge relationship. Refs.
