Computer Aided Design offers easy dialogue between designer and machine. In this paper, CAD system for narrow fabrics and the associated electronically controlled weaving machines have been described. Many advantages, including the electronic storage with immediate access to patterns and the ability to download design instructions directly to the jacquard mechanism are discussed.
