The simultaneous determination of copper, zinc and manganese was studied with computational spectrophotometry. In order to improve the accuracy of the analytical results, the derivative techniques were used for enlarging the differences among the absorption spectra of the complexes of the ions with 5-Br-PADAP. The effects of computational method, the number of measuring points and the selection of the measuring points on results were investigated. The method has been applied to the simultaneous determination of copper, zinc and manganese in the standard sample of cast aluminium with satisfactory results.
