High current pickling and plating of nonferrous wire

The surface of a wire must be free from contaminants such as lubricant residues, oxides and small metal particles to avoid poor adhesion and burn spots. There are several methods for cleaning wire surface. The most common is known as bipolar electrolytic degreasing, which is used inline with annealing furnaces, electroplating, galvanizing and chemical coating. Other common methods are immersion in an ultrasonic bath or cleaning with hot, pressurized water.
