摘要
Carbide-tipped sawblades are more expensive than HSS-sawblades but they also have a noticeably higher service life time. With carbide tools, a reduction of the production time to the fraction is possible in any case, depending on the steel grades and cross section of up to 80%. In addition to the higher efficiency further advantages will be found to reduce the costs indirectly: shorter machining times of orders, cutting of untreated or heat treated materials without extra heat treatment, saving of costs for space by the replacement of several conventional sawing machines, higher sawing precision etc. These savings are opposed by a higher machine hour rate. Three example applications are discussed: cutting of round/square bars and tubes of different steel grades; cutting of piston pins; sawing of round bars in the production of textile machines.
