摘要：
A statistical evaluation of literature data defines the factors that affect the fatigue strength of unnotched and notched specimens, respectively. It is concluded that metallurgical practices that increase tensile strength have a favorable effect on the fatigue strength of smooth specimens. This is true to a minor extent for notched specimens. High strength cast irons are more notch sensitive than softer irons.
