Chrysler's central engineering department designed the door, and engineers at the Twinsburg (Ohio) Stamping Plant got the job of joining the impact bar to the inner door panel. Goodrich designed and bult the eqipment. Each machine has a seven- station, hydraulically- operated lift- and- carry shuttle that indexes 48 in. at each step. Other components include seven welding transformers, 13 special rocker- type welding gun assemblies, 12 hydraulic clamping cylinders, two special sequence control panels, two hydraulic power units, and welding control panels.
