摘要
A cyclone incinerator was developed for the treatment of solid waste at a nuclear power station. One of the main purposes was to achieve a considerable reduction of both volume and weight of the final waste; after the first experiments it turned out that reductions by factors of 7 and 80, respectively were possible (after solidification). For burnable waste the throughput was 23 kg. h** minus **1 for 6 hour runs. Some 7000 kg of non-radioactive waste were treated in total. The behavior of potentially dangerous radionuclides (Co, Cs, Mn and Sr) was studied by means of tracers. It appears that Co, Mn and Sr were concentrated in the resulting ashes, where some 55% of the Cs was also found; the remaining Cs could not be accounted for. The ashes were solidified by mixing them with concrete in a 1:1 ratio.
