The signing of two deal by Norwegian construction giant Aker Kvaerner, in the chemical industry is discussed. He will soon undertake work in South America and Australia. The Chemetics division of Aker Kvaerner Canada was awarded a contract by Ravensthorpe Nickel Operations Pty Ltd. (RNO), a wholly owned subsidiary of BHP Billiton, to build a A$100 million single train sulfur burning acid plant. The lump sum contract includes the complete design, supply erection and commissioning of the plant. RNO is developing a mine and processing facility near the town of Ravensthorpe in Western Australia. The new acid plant associated with the project will have a daily capacity of 4,400 tons per day.
