A critical analysis and verification of the normalized equation of the load capacity of axially compressed reinforced columns is performed in this paper. Making use of current knowledge concerning the strength of concrete in a triaxial state of compressive stress and taking into consideration the discontinuity of the application of the side pressures along the side surface of the concrete column core, The author presents his own equation for the load capacity of axially compressed reinforced columns. A verification performed on the basis of 349 results of experimental studies has proved the superiority of the proposed equation over the normalized ones.
