摘要
The 14th Congress of the World Energy Conference (WEC) offered possibilities for refining estimates of current levels and future trends in the expansion of thermal power technology. In the USA, with its uncertain potential for increases in energy consumption and high bank interest rates, a great deal of attention is being paid to the development of module-type power-generating units of moderate capacity (200 - 500 MW). In these, the main assemblies are manufactured to a high degree of factory readiness. High operational characteristics have been achieved on modern thermal power stations. Statistical data presented to the WEC Congress are shown. The general tendency throughout is for a reduction in readiness and an increase in the unit capacity of power-generating units.
