摘要
The technology of simultaneous generation of heat and power at the site of consumption by a modern block heat power plant is about to undergo its practical test. It is expected that this new heating system will come generally into common use. Block heat power plants (BHPP) are relatively small electric power plants powered by internal combustion engines. Their heating power is utilized on the spot or in the immediate vicinity. The BHPP are interconnected with the public low voltage network. Their electric power utilization coefficient amounts to 35% and the heat utilization coefficient about 50%. The total thermal efficiency is about 85%. The heat balance and utilization of thermal engine power and mechanical power is discussed and suggestions as to the layout of the plant are given.
