摘要
The characteristics of estimating channel deformations in the head stretches of large earth canals predetermine the use of simplified balance and morphometric methods. In this case it is possible to perform calculations at once for the final, ultimate state of the channel which considerably simplifies them. At each stage of calculation the proposals of many authors reflecting the strongest features of the simplified methods proposed by them are used. Methods of calculating deformations in the lower pools of hydro developments are used along with methods of calculating the deformations of canals in natural soils with their self-erosion. The use of the Irtysh River on the stretch of its outflow from Lake Zaisan as an analogue on a large earth canal with a damless intake confirms the possibility of determining the order of magnitude of general channel deformations by simplified balance and morphometric methods. The calculations performed can be used when designing canals under similar geological and hydrological conditions.
