摘要
The fractal features are studied of top bed of coal in Yanzishan coal mine. The relationship between their fractal dimension and the strength of rock is discussed. The microscopic statistical analyses and the mechanical tests show that the rock microvoid and grains distribution are all fractal in nature, and can be expressed by their fractal dimensions. At the same time, they are important factors to affect the strength of rock. There is obvious relationship between fractal dimension and the strength of rock. Therefore, the rock strength can be evaluated by the fractal dimensions of microvoid and grain distribution in rocks.
