摘要
The occurrence of systematic errors and their elimination are described with the aid of examples of using the AAS (atomic absorption spectrometry) for elemental analysis. Systematic errors occurring in the determination of cadmium in crude oils or finished products in the range of 1 mu g/kg Cd are due to the decomposition of the samples. When sodium is directly determined in heavy fuel oil, wall adsorption will occur in the test solution at a concentration of about 2 mg/kg Na if a nonpolar solvent is used. With the analysis of used oils, the presence of 'too large' wear particles can lead to very misleading test results.
