The theoretical effect of a magnetic field on dielectric properties of gases is considered. Formulas for the dielectric displacement permeability and for the dielectric permeability for orientation polarization in the presence of a magnetic field are derived. It is found that, with an increase in the magnetic field, electric properties may increase if the magnetic field is directed along the electric one, and may decrease if they are opposite in direction. An experimental verification of theoretical deductions is carried out on a mixture of air and nitrogen oxide.
