摘要
The paper describes a generalized concept for the realization of thyristor phase controlled static var compensator. The novelty of the concept and the optimum designs emerging from it lie in the reactor-thyristor arrangement. The new designs generate less harmonic currents at any load and hence are favored. It is shown that considerable savings can be made in filtering equipment and thyristor valves, while the reactor cost is slightly increased.
