摘要
A relationship is established between the nature of certain fine precipitates in the interior of the matrix and the resistance of aluminum alloy 1201 (belonging to the Al-Cu-Mn system) to corrosion cracking. The region of high sensitivity to this form of stress corrosion coincides with the precipitation of Guinier-Preston (GP) zones or the metastable theta double prime phase. Sensitivity to corrosion cracking may be eliminated by way of the complete theta double prime yields theta prime transition.
