摘要
Production size ingots of 3. 5Ni-Cr-Mo-V steel with low manganese and low silicon contents, exceptional purity, and freedom from non-metallic inclusions may be produced in melt shops equipped with ladle refining and vacuum treatment facilities. The forging and heat treatment characteristics of the superclean rotor steel and the conventional steel are comparable. Improved resistance to temper embrittlement is found with the superclean steel. It has excellent tensile and creep ductility at elevated temperature. Creep strengths have been measured in the higher time-temperature regime being considered for LP rotors for advanced steam power plants.
