Densities of the Liquid Zn-Cd and Cd-Bi Alloys.

In this work the authors determined the densities of liquid metals (Zn, Cd, Bi) and their alloys (Zn Cd, Bd-Bi) by the pycnometric method. In the case of the investigated metals and alloys there has been stated a lineal dependence between their densities and temperatures. On basis of the obtained results of the density measurements for the Zn-Cd and Cd-Bi alloys, the molal volume for these alloys has been calculated. The Zn-Cd alloys do not reveal a redundant volume during their formation within the limits of the investigation temperatures. The Cd-Bi alloys have a redundant volume during their formation, at the same time the quantity of this redundant volume decreases with the increase of the temperature.
