A dispersion equation is derived which permits one to investigate the effect of nonmonochromaticity of a random pump wave on the spectrum of small perturbations in the plasma. It is shown that the threshold increase due to finite spectra width of the pump wave depends on the angle of propagation of the unstable waves. In the field of a quasiplane wave with fixed frequency the threshold change for the high-frequency perturbations is significantly smaller than for the low-frequency perturbations.
