Six ssteels containing approximately 0. 15%C, 0. 5 to 1. 3%Cr, 0. 5%Mo, and 0. 2 to 0. 5%V after different heat treatments, were creep tested at 550 to 625C. The purpose of the investigation was to explain the mechanism of the creep behavior, especially the stage of constant creep rate, of these steels in terms of the effect of vanadium carbide distribution on dislocation movement.
