摘要
The paper reports on tests investigating the possible deformations of columns subject to constant normal force and gradually increasing lateral load at room temperature. By means of a numerical method the influence of the most important parameter is further investigated; these include the extent of the normal compressive force, the kind, shape and quantity of the stirrups, as well as the kind and quantity of the longitudinal reinforcement. Methods of assessing possible column head displacement are presented and measures to improve the column deformation capacity are listed.
