Use of cure promoters in alkaline sizing

摘要：
The rate of sizing attainment of alkylketene dimer in a typical waste based sheet has been monitored and the effect on it of six polymers - PE1, PAM, PPE, PDADMAC, PAF, and PAC-investigated. All six polymers improved the rate of cure of a starch-based AKD emulsion to different degrees. This improvement was shown not to be a function of improved fines retention or AKD distribution between fibre and fines, but by some mechanism as yet unspecified.
