This paper reviews recent advances in identifying and measuring the important parameters in predicting the occurrence and rate of erosion corrosion. A new method of measuring mass transfer coefficients is described, with examples including work in two phase gas-liquid flows and results from the rediscovered impinging gas jet electrode. Finally, some of the problems in predicting erosion corrosion, including the development of roughness, are outlined.
