The paper deals with a simple and effective installation for determining the Young modulus E, shear modulus G and the coefficient of internal friction for metallic materials within a range of temperatures from liquid helium up to 1200 K. The original methodical peculiarities of the setup are described. Certain recommendations on sample cooling and heating are presented.
