摘要
The use of inductively coupled plasma mass spectroscopy for copper and zinc isotope analysis was discussed. Spectral interferences from elemental isobars, major argides, trace oxides, and double-charged species formed the major obstacle while measuring the isotope ratios. These spectral interferences were resolved from the associated Zn and Cu peaks by increasing mass resolution. However an increase in the mass resolution lead to a decrease in signal transmission and rounding of peaks, both of which compromise on high-precision isotope ratio measurements.
