Additional protective waterwalls have been installed in the PK-41 boiler at the Lithuanian state district power plant in front of the tubes of the most unreliable lateral waterwalls. Their purpose is to enhance the reliability of the waterwalls of the lower radiant section that undergo the highest thermal stresses. The additional protective waterwall consists of 50 horizontal tubes. The experience of operation of these waterwalls is described equally as regards protection from corrosion and deposits.
