摘要：

An analysis is made of the effect on thermionic-field emission at moderate fields of the individual fields of ions which form a nonneutralized space charge near the cathode. An analytic expression is obtained for the electron current density. Taking account of the discrete nature of the charge can increase the emission current significantly.
