摘要
The basic principles of some methods for testing mechanical and environmental behavior of welded joints, such as fracture mechanics, fatigue tests, and tests under environmental conditions are discussed. Examples of application of these methods to welded joints produced by TIG, electron beam, electric resistance, and high-temperature brazing processes, as well as to bonded joints, are presented. In addition, nondestructive detection of defects in welded and bonded joints by holographic and acoustic methods is discussed and compared with some conventional methods like ultrasonic or x-ray testing.
