New Developments of Electronic Readout and Automatic Remote Readout of Water Meters with Electronic Counters. Field Test of the Berlin Water Works.

It is pointed out the electronic readout and automatic remote readout of water meters, incorporating electronic counters represent an alternative to conventional data acquisition. A field test was undertaken by the Berlin Water System which is based on these new techniques. The data are transmitted over the telephone network of the West German Post Office using the Temex service.
