Fast Fourier transform methods are very important for the automatic non-contact measurement of deformation in many engineering applications. Although the basic principles are well understood, some aspects of their practical application remain to be fully investigated. This paper considers some of the methods used for the phase retrieval of holographic and TV-holographic interferograms.
