Crystalline structure and properties of superhard phases formed in the B-B2O3-gBN system under high pressures and temperatures

High temperature (T>2300 K) and pressure (P=4-6.5 GPa) effects on the properties of phases, formed in the B-B2O3-BN system under these conditions, are studied. It is shown that boron suboxide at T>2300 K and P=4.0 GPa interacts with graphite-like BN and the last is transformed into cubic boron nitride and acquires the strong texture. The microhardness of this compound is 37.3 GPa and the microhardness of contained in it inclusions achieves 48.9 GPa.
