Sampling is often recommended for reliable dew point and other humidity measurements. This removes sensors from adverse environments, permits mounting the elements at locations convenient for maintenance, and affords opportunities to condition gases prior to measurement. Attention to factors such as sampling system materials, leakage, temperature control, and treatment of contaminants can contribute to satisfactory performance. This paper offers guidelines to developing such systems.
