摘要
The paper discusses the resolution of imaging by the sampling filter. According to the given approach the imaging resolution of the filter depends on a transmittance of a single sampling element and is the same as the resolution of a lens of a proper pupil function. The presented theoretical description which utilizes the paraxial Fresnel approximation of diffraction is confirmed by numerical simulations comparing imaging properties of the sampling filter with imaging abilities of lenses of different pupil functions.
