Quality Control in the Injection Molding of Thermoplastics.

It should be the task of quality control to assure the manufacturer of injection moldings that the existing processing conditions facilitate the production of moldings of the desired quality and that the required properties are affected neither by the molding materials nor by processing. The possibilities of quality control to meet this requirement are discussed in this paper. Test procedures used in quality control of molded articles are described in some detail with particular attention to the measurement of shrinkage, molding tolerance, ball indentation test, flammability, etc.
