Electric utilities in many parts of the world are having difficulty coping with steep rises in local demand caused by companies being concentrated on industrial estates and in commercial centers. Containerized substations can help to solve this problem. Planned, delivered and installed in a relatively short time, they are a proven alternative to conventional outdoor and indoor substations with air- or gas-insulated switchgear. Containerized substations are also useful as stopgaps for utilities or companies modernizing their substations.
