Because of many companies in the US that have undergone reengineering and job redesign, employees have weathered countless layoffs and their expectations about their careers and career advancement have been tossed out of the window. Whereas job security and promotions used to be almost guaranteed, today there's no such a thing. The result of these is a workforce with a motivation problem. To learn what the fundamentals of motivation really are, this paper took comments, advice, research, techniques, and case studies and blended them together to come up with a top-20 list of the best motivators.
