摘要
A short description of the conventional processes used in pulp production is provided. This is followed by a discussion of the advantages that may be gained by using oxygen in the individual stages of the process. Replacing chlorine by O//2 in the bleaching process has clear ecological advantages. Experiments in using O//2 instead of sulfur compounds in the pulping stage are progressing. Work is also being done on using ozone for pulping.
