摘要
Professional astronomers have initiated a project which allows amateur astronomers to participate in a research on extrasolar planets. The amateur astronomers will require an 8 to 10 in. telescope, software to control the telescope's built-in tracking system, a charge coupled device (CCD) imager and a laptop for data analysis. The astronomers will use a technique called differential photometry which allows the measurement of the ratio of brightness of a target star and one or more comparison stars.
