CONTRASTS IN EUROPEAN AND AMERICAN HOSE TECHNOLOGY.

In this paper hose constructions and methods of manufacture are discussed, where European and American practice differs. These areas embrace certain types of textile reinforced hose, reinforcing machines, methods of continuous vulcanization and large-bore oil hoses. It is demonstrated that the differences in hose construction and manufacturing methods are not enormous but they do exist. One would expect, under the impetus of economic pressure and the increased ease with which one can cross the Atlantic, that differences in technology will be reduced.
