A process is investigated for the treatment of mineralized wastewaters from the production of propylene oxide, 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic (2,4-D) acid, dichlorobutadiene, glycerin and vinylchoride. Destructive oxidation of the organic impurities in the wastewater was accomplished by electrochemical methods using ruthenium oxide anodes on a titanium base and carrier catalysts. The degree of removal of the organic carbon from the wastewaters was 90-98%.
